It’s Almost Time For Ick’s Picks!!!!!!

Each year my buddy Ick runs a little football pool thingy.

It’s simple and free. It’s so simple that yours truly won the whole schpiel last season… YEEEE HAWWWW!!!!

Everybody is welcome to play.

Now for the obligatory copy and paste from Ick’s site:

With football season upon us (finally) it’s time once again for Ick’s Picks. For those of you who have participated in recent years, you already know the rules. For those of you that are new to the game, here’s the rub.

Each week I will place the NFL match ups and you pick who you think will win. It’s just that simple. No point spread, no handicapping, just straight up picks. See example below…

As always my picks will be indicated by an (X). My picks are also always done the night I post the weeks match ups. At the end of each week we will tally up each persons correct picks and post the weeks results on Tuesday. Then at the end of the season we will tally up each persons correct picks per week to determine the winner for the season. Basically whoever picks the most number of correct games for the season will be the big winner.

- Picks must be in prior to the first game of the week to get credit for all games. Example if there is a Thursday night game and you don’t get your picks in until after Thursday, you will not be given credit for the Thursday night game.

-All weeks will be counted this season. In seasons past we have only counted 12 weeks. Taking into consideration that people miss weeks, either because they got busy, (looks at Steve) or they just plain forgot. With 90% of last seasons players participating in all weeks, we have decided to count each and every week this year. Including the last two weeks of the season when teams decide to rest starters for the playoffs.  If you miss a week this season you will recieve no credit for that week, and this could seriously effect you at the end of the year. Best advice, don’t miss a week.

Changes to your weekly picks. If you have posted your picks and would like to make a change to the pick, it must be done prior to that game. Example if the Cowboys are playing the Giants and you pick the Giants to win, and Eli Manning gets hurt in practice that week and you want change your pick, it must be in prior to that game.

Where do I place my picks? When the weeks match ups are posted you will simply put your  picks in the comment section of that post. See example. You can always find the weeks match up posts and results post in the following categories *NFL Picks / NFL Pick Winners*. Each Category can be found on the right had column.

How much does it cost to play? Absolutely nothing. I started this about 3 years ago and have continued to do it because its a lot of fun. I also encourage anyone that has played before, or is going to start playing to bring as many friends as they can. The bigger the better.

What are we playing for? For the first two seasons we played for bragging rights. Last season I got the bright idea to actually give away a prize. We are playing for an official Tri – Star signed football mini helmet. About three or four times a year Tri Star will get a bunch of players together for autograph events all around the country. Recently retired players, current players, and Hall Of Fame players. Tri Star will have them sign a handful of mini helmets for a product line Tri Star offers, a *mystery box* to be exact. Each mystery box guarantees one signed mini helmet, but who signed it?  Hence the mystery box. I bought one of these boxes a few years ago and got a Bart Starr (Alabama) signed mini helmet. In addition to the mini helmet the winner will also receive a display case. See picture below submitted by last years winner, and defending champion Silent e.

Shipping and handling is also covered by me.

Come one come all, tell your friends. Are you ready for some football??

Thank’s oh silent one. Hopefully we will have 50+ people playing this year. With you, Ol Broad, and myself advertising, the word should get around.
