The Tea Party

The Tea Party in Madison was a complete success. I can still see and hear the 17 year old home schooled student speaking. She was incredible. It’s amazing that a 17 year old can be smarter than most of the electorate and elected and she’s not even old enough to vote yet.

I did notice in the coverage of this event, the media continually referred to the protest as a CONSERVATIVE event. This couldn’t be further from the truth. This was a TAX PAYER rally. There were people from all walks of life and all political affiliations at this event. The speakers did not just blame the Obama Administration. They blamed politicians including George Bush.

I always tell myself I’m going to act like a reporter and take notes to report all that I saw. I even went as far as packing a small note pad and pen this time but as the event started, I found my self too enthralled in what was going onĀ  completely forgot about being a reporter. I will also blame my lack of reporting on my dad. I convinced him to go and he and I had a GREAT time. I didn’t want to take away from that by sticking my nose in a note pad all day.

This is the second rally I’ve been to and I’ll have to say that these things are fantastic. The participants are courteous and well behaved. We The People were represented by young and old alike and when a speaker was at the podium, the crowd was silent and the signs came down.

A big thanks goes out to all who attended and to those who spoke. Thanks also to Chris for posting updates.

I’m posting this one picture I found at the MacIver Institute. I will be going through my pics later and will post links to others. This particular picture I’m posting should give you an idea of how many people attended this rally.

Well, from what I’m hearing and seeing (MSM notwithstanding), it was a HUGE success all across the country!
