What’s In A Name?
In this world, we use names to identify with people, places or things. Musicians chose a name for their bands that possibly have a personal meaning to them but also are catchy and easy to remember so you can easily identify their music. Sports organizations chose a named based on the ferocity of an animal or just because they want to piss off an overly sensitive ethnic group. Some names are deceiving like, for instance, The ACLU or the U.N.
Some names are a perfect fit…… The name “ENEMY COMBATANT” is the name given to a group of people who hide among the masses and blend in and commit war criimes. They don’t follow a modern convention of war. They kill and maim civilians and soldiers and call themselves an army but do not distinguish themselves as such. The are an ENEMY and they are COMBATANTS.
The Obama administration has now taken it upon itself to remove this moniker from these criminals so their feelings don’t get hurt.
So what are you going to call them President Obama?
