The Messiah purposes a $500 rebate to singles and a $1000 rebate for families. Okay.
The Messiah wants this rebate to offset energy price.
The Messiah says he will impose a windfall profits tax on BIG OIL to partly fund this rebate.
So, let me see here. If you impose a higher tax on an oil company to fund a rebate that is supposed to be used for energy costs but the result of that new tax would be HIGHER energy prices because BIG OIL, like any other company ON THE PLANET, is going to pass the tax on to the customer which in turn means that the consumer is just going to be giving MORE money to BIG OIL because they’ll be paying more to cover the new tax that the government imposed on BIG OIL…….
