This weeks Douchebag of the Week award goes to Republican candidate for senate, Mark Kirk, for pulling a “Blumenthal” and embelishing his military record which even included a Hillary Clintonesque comment of being fired upon…. but not really.
Although he did accept more responsibility for his lies than Blumenthal did, he still needs to go.
Al Gore, the self-styled squeakiest-clean and deepest-green politician in American history, has some explaining to do this weekend. His environmental organisation has taken money to raise awareness about the need for clean water from a controversial chemicals company involved in the aftermath of one of the world’s worst pollution disasters.
Dow Chemical the US firm which now owns the leaking pesticides factory responsible for thousands of deaths in Bhopal, India, is sponsoring Life Earth events in 150 cities today. The event aims to raise money for clean water programmes. Research by environmental organisations has found dangerous levels of highly toxic chemicals in rivers, lakes and other water supplies close to several other factories owned by Dow and its subsidiaries in countries including the United States, Brazil and South Africa.
AlGore…. Mr. Global Warming is now a subsidiary of BIG CHEMICAL!!!!
Climategate U-turn as scientist at centre of row admits: There has been no global warming since 1995
The academic at the centre of the ‘Climategate’ affair, whose raw data is crucial to the theory of climate change, has admitted that he has trouble ‘keeping track’ of the information.
Colleagues say that the reason Professor Phil Jones has refused Freedom of Information requests is that he may have actually lost the relevant papers.
Professor Jones told the BBC yesterday there was truth in the observations of colleagues that he lacked organisational skills, that his office was swamped with piles of paper and that his record keeping is ‘not as good as it should be’.
The data is crucial to the famous ‘hockey stick graph’ used by climate change advocates to support the theory.
Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now – suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon.
And he said that for the past 15 years there has been no ‘statistically significant’ warming.
*****************************
He also agreed that there had been two periods which experienced similar warming, from 1910 to 1940 and from 1975 to 1998, but said these could be explained by natural phenomena whereas more recent warming could not.
He further admitted that in the last 15 years there had been no ‘statistically significant’ warming, although he argued this was a blip rather than the long-term trend.
Did anybody else notice the contradiction in the last 2 sentences???
The funny part of this is that I’m called a denier……….. Whatever.
Don’t expect the accomplice media in the U.S. to report any of this……
“But if anyone from either party has a better approach that will bring down premiums, bring down the deficit, cover the uninsured, strengthen Medicare for seniors, and stop insurance company abuses, let me know. Let me know. Let me know. I’m eager to see it.”
Yeah…. That’s funny. Obumbler wants to listen to what other have to say?? REALLY? How do explain the closed door health care negotiations? How do you explain the fact that the LIBERAL democrats wouldn’t even allow more moderate democrats to be involved makes this quote even more laughable. Republicans and democrats alike have offered up countless proposals but the liberals slam the door in their faces…. Tell me again who the party of “NO” is. The only thing that could have made this quote funnier was if he would have said…..
Let me know. Let me know. I’m ALL EARS!!!!!
On to climate change.
I know there have been questions about whether we can afford such changes in a tough economy. I know that there are those who disagree with the overwhelming scientific evidence on climate change. But here’s the thing — even if you doubt the evidence………
Evidence???? Seriously??? Evidence??? Everyday there is a new story released on how the numbers have been falsified. Last time I checked, adding fabricated numbers to the data being analyzed to prove your hypothesis was not part of any scientific method.
Education.
And by the way, it’s time for colleges and universities to get serious about cutting their own costs — (applause) — because they, too, have a responsibility to help solve this problem.
Yeah…. That’s also way too funny. That probably gave a whole bunch of university chancellors a GREAT laugh last night……..A GUT BUSTER!!!!
Unemployment.
Because of the steps we took, there are about two million Americans working right now who would otherwise be unemployed.
So last nights number was 2 million…. That number changes everyday. Why is it that more than 2 of 3 economists say the “STIMULUS” has done absolutely nothing to create jobs.
Just a few laughable moments from our Narcissist in Chief last night.
Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, is not revealing the price tag of the congressional junket to Copenhagen…. Why should she care???? It’s not her money…
They were joined by 17 colleagues: Democrats: Waxman, Miller, Markey, Gordon, Levin, Blumenauer, DeGette, Inslee, Ryan, Butterfield, Cleaver, Giffords, and Republicans: Barton, Upton, Moore Capito, Sullivan, Blackburn and Sensenbrenner.
That’s not the half of it. But finding out more was a bit like trying to get the keys to Ft. Knox. Many referred us to Speaker Pelosi who wouldn’t agree to an interview. Her office said it “will comply with disclosure requirements” but wouldn’t give us cost estimates or even tell us where they all stayed.
***********
Senator Inhofe (R-OK) is one of the few who provided us any detail. He attended the summit on his own for just a few hours, to give an “opposing view.”
“They’re going because it’s the biggest party of the year,” Sen. Inhofe said. “The worst thing that happened there is they ran out of caviar.”
Our investigation found that the congressional delegation was so large, it needed three military jets: two 737′s and a Gulfstream Five — up to 64 passengers — traveling in luxurious comfort.
Add senators and staff, most of whom flew commercial, and we counted at least 101 Congress-related attendees. All for a summit that failed to deliver a global climate deal.
That’s a mighty big carbon footprint just for a chance to party with Pelosi…….. (Gosh…. That doesn’t even sound fun..)
I wonder when the folks in our government will notice that we’re having some economic problems here in the United States.
Telltale signs are everywhere —from the unexpected persistence and thickness of pack ice in the
waters around Iceland to the southward migration of a warmth-loving creature like the armadillo from the
Midwest.Since the 1940s the mean global temperature has dropped about 2.7° F. Although that figure is
at best an estimate, it is supported by other convincing data. When Climatologist George J. Kukla of
Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Geological Observatory and his wife Helena analyzed satellite
weather data for the Northern Hemisphere, they found that the area of the ice and snow cover had
suddenly increased by 12% in 1971 and the increase has persisted ever since. Areas of Baffin Island in the Canadian Arctic, for example, were once totally free of any snow in summer; now they are covered
year round.
Scientists have found other indications of global cooling. For one thing there has been a noticeable
expansion of the great belt of dry, high-altitude polar winds —the so-called circumpolar vortex—that
sweep from west to east around the top and bottom of the world. Indeed it is the widening of this cap of
cold air that is the immediate cause of Africa’s drought. By blocking moisture-bearing equatorial winds
and preventing them from bringing rainfall to the parched sub-Sahara region, as well as other droughtridden
areas stretching all the way from Central America to the Middle East and India, the polar winds
have in effect caused the Sahara and other deserts to reach farther to the south. Paradoxically, the
same vortex has created quite different weather quirks in the U.S. and other temperate zones. As the
winds swirl around the globe, their southerly portions undulate like the bottom of a skirt. Cold air is
pulled down across the Western U.S. and warm air is swept up to the Northeast. The collision of air
masses of widely differing temperatures and humidity can create violent storms—the Midwest’s recent
rash of disastrous tornadoes, for example.
******************
The earth’s current climate is something of an anomaly; in the past 700,000 years, there have been at
least seven major episodes of glaciers spreading over much of the planet. Temperatures have been as
high as they are now only about 5% of the time. But there is a peril more immediate than the prospect of
another ice age. Even if temperature and rainfall patterns change only slightly in the near future in one
or more of the three major grain-exporting countries—the U.S., Canada and Australia —global food
stores would be sharply reduced. University of Toronto Climatologist Kenneth Hare, a former president
of the Royal Meteorological Society, believes that the continuing drought and the recent failure of the
Russian harvest gave the world a grim premonition of what might happen. Warns Hare: “I don’t believe
that the world’s present population is sustainable if there are more than three years like 1972 in a row.”
In 1974 they reported that there wasn’t much time…… The ice age was coming……. We’re all DOOMED!!!!!!
World leaders and VIPs began pouring into Copenhagen Monday morning for the city’s long-awaited climate summit, arriving in style in a fleet of gas-guzzling limos and luxury cars.
Most delegates to the climate change conference haven’t exactly been hoofing their way to Denmark’s capital, swarming the city’s airport with 140 private jets, 1,200 hired limousines and a carbon footprint the size of a small country.
Video shot on the scene Monday shows squads of new arrivals at the green gathering pulling up in BMWs, Mercedes Benzes, sleek Volvos and plush Jaguars. A bus reserved for the delegates rode along empty outside the conference center.
It amazes me how many sheep still take these losers seriously…..
A federal jury convicted a former U.S. congressman Wednesday of taking bribes on 11 of 16 counts in a case in which agents found $90,000 in his freezer.
Former Rep. William Jefferson, a Democrat who had represented parts of New Orleans, was accused of accepting more than $400,000 in bribes and seeking millions more in exchange for brokering business deals in Africa.
It took jurors five days to reach a decision after an eight-week trial. Most of the trial was government testimony. The defense wrapped up its case in a matter of hours.
The defense argued that Jefferson was acting as a private business consultant in brokering the deals and that his actions did not constitute bribery under federal law.
Check this video of a constituent blasting Congressman Mike Castle on the issue of B. Hussein Obama’s lack of producing a birth certificate.
A little info for Mr. Castle…… Arnold Schwarzenegger is also a citizen of the United States and in NOT qualified to be president. Where is the birth certificate? This little controversy will easily go away if you produce the document…
A little follow up on yesterdays post about Army Maj. Stefan Cook and his refusal to serve under a president who has not proven his legitimacy to hold office…..
A U.S. Army Reserve major from Florida scheduled to report for deployment
to Afghanistan within days has had his military orders revoked after arguing he should not be required to serve under a president who has not proven his eligibility for office.
His attorney, Orly Taitz, confirmed to WND the military has rescinded his impending deployment orders.
**********
Cook said without a legitimate president as commander-in-chief, members of the U.S. military in overseas actions could be determined to be “war criminals and subject to prosecution.”
He said the vast array of information about Obama that is not available to the public confirms to him “something is amiss.”
“That and the fact the individual who is occupying the White House has not been entirely truthful with anybody,” he said. “Every time anyone has made an inquiry, it has been either cast aside, it has been maligned, it has been laughed at or just dismissed summarily without further investigation.
**********
According to the court filing, Cook affirmed when he joined the military, he took the following oath: “I, Stefan Frederick Cook, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the president of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to the regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.”
According to the claim, “Plaintiff submits that it is implicit though not expressly stated that an officer is and should be subject to court-martial, because he will be derelict in the performance of his duties, if he does not inquire as to the lawfulness, the legality, the legitimacy of the orders which he has received, whether those orders are specific or general.“
I, again, will state that I’m not one who agrees with “dodgers” after they made the committment but this guy does have a point and until Obama provides the documentation this soldier may actually be serving his country by helping end the controversy behind Obama’s birth place.
WASHINGTON — If the Senate doesn’t pass a bill to cut global warming, Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer says, there will be dire results: droughts, floods, fires, loss of species, damage to agriculture, worsening air pollution and more.
She says there’s a huge upside, however, if the Senate does act: millions of clean-energy jobs, reduced reliance on foreign oil and less pollution for the nation’s children.
Ma’am Boxer heads up the Environment and Public Works committee that will be one of 6 committees to oversee the bill.
I’ll be waiting to see if anybody asks Ma’am if she has any facts to corroborate her claims. We all know the answer is no but in this era of liberal crap journalism and pussy republicans on the Hill, the question will go unasked.
Our (almost) lone hope on the Hill is Sen Inhofe. Will he ask the tough questions???
It was a little over a year ago that Atlas broke the story that Obama’s certification of live birth was a “horrible forgery”. I ran a 28 page forensic digital analysis meticulously prepared by a forensic digital examination specialist exposing the fraud. Obama hired five law firms to fight the release of the vault copy. It has never seen the light of day, despite numerous calls by hundreds of thousands of concerned Americans to release it.
Interestingly, in the past week, Obama’s secret police have been massively scrubbing the net of any and all copies of the COLB. Even vaporizing the copies on the “wayback machine”. You can see the documents he has erased here. Mighty strange. Or not.
Just last week I was reviewing them online for a piece I was researching. So this is very new.
Don’t stop reading here…. You really need to follow the link to Atlas Shrugs to check out the meticulous work that was done to prove the Obama birth certificate was a fake.
I’m having a real problem understanding why providing this document has been such a problem for Obama. It’s a requirement of the job. If you don’t have a certificate to prove you’re a natural born citizen of the US….. You can’t be president.
As consumers and businesses scale back during the worst economic slump in decades, We Energies says it must ask for more.
The deepening recession is slowing sales of electricity more than projected, so the Milwaukee utility is asking the state Public Service Commission for a bigger rate increase to cover the gap.
Under the new proposal, residential electric bills are forecast to rise 7% in 2010, up from an earlier forecast of 4.9%.
The utility now is seeking $126 million in higher rates, up $50 million from its earlier request. The new proposal would mean an annual increase of $64 next year for the typical residential customer using 600 kilowatt-hours of electricity per month. The typical customer’s bill would rise by another $44 in 2011, under the utility’s plan.
Charlie Higley, executive director of the Wisconsin Citizens’ Utility Board, said Monday the prospect of bigger price increases during a recession is difficult for his group’s residents and small businesses.
“It’s just another reminder that even though we’re in a bad economy, we’re seeing rising prices for energy, including electricity,” Higley said. “And that’s going to make it harder for households to make ends meet in the coming months.”
We Energies says it recognizes the impact of the economy on its customers. The utility also said it is leaving money on the table: Pledging to control costs internally, the utility is not seeking PSC approval to raise rates by another $92 million that the company believes it would be justified in seeking from customers.
“We tried, based on the economic times that we are in, to scale that back,” said Brian Manthey, a utility spokesman.
Raising rates because of slowing electricity sales is legally permissible but can be politically challenging, given rising unemployment and falling incomes.
Oh but WE is leaving money on the table…. PFFFFFFT. They make it sound like they are still using the energy that is not being used.
Let’s not forget that the PSC is made up 3 Governor Doofenschmirtz appointees….. Is there any doubt that this will be approved.
As U.S. stock markets plummeted last September, the Senate’s No. 2 Democrat, Dick Durbin, sold more than $115,000 worth of stocks and mutual-fund shares and used much of the money to invest in Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Inc.
The Illinois senator’s 2008 financial disclosure statement shows he sold mutual-fund shares worth $42,696 on Sept. 19, the day after then-Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke urged congressional leaders in a closed meeting to craft legislation to help financially troubled banks. The same day, he bought $43,562 worth of Berkshire Hathaway’s Class B stock, the disclosure shows.
Of course Durbin’s flack says he didn’t use any of the information received from Paulson to his advantage.
However, McNeil has not kept up his dues to the State Bar of Wisconsin. His license was listed as suspended as of late Friday, according to the bar’s website.
And this wasn’t a short-term oversight. A bar official told us McNeil’s license has been suspended since October 1995.
McNeil did not return calls for comment.
It is unclear what effect — if any — the suspended license might have on the high-stakes pension case.
McNeil has a valid license in his home state of Texas. Lawyers can be admitted to appear in specific cases in states where they’re not licensed if the judge grants a motion to appear pro hac vice. The court file does not show that U.S. District Judge Charles Clevert granted such a motion. His staff said Clevert would be notified of the suspension.
To lift the suspension in Wisconsin, McNeil would need to pay a visit to the state Supreme Court. Then bar officials would figure out the bill, which could run up to $1,300.
How could he not have known that his license has been suspended in Wisconsin? Given the fact that his law license has been suspended since 1995 in Wisconsin, it wouldn’t surprise me if each and every one of his cases which were tried out of Texas is revisited. Unless a Motion to Appear Pro Hac Vice is granted by the Court, he cannot practice in any state in which he is not properly licensed. This could be a one time mistake, but if not, there could be serious consequences. According to his profile, he has been involved in some pretty significant cases.
I’ll be curious to see how this is handled in the Milwaukee County pension litigation…
Facing a public that is starting to see through the lie of global warming, The wackos are going to pull an Obama Administration “War on Terror/Overseas Contingency Operation” type of mislabeling campaign to try to take the publics eye off the ball.
WASHINGTON — The problem with global warming, some environmentalists believe, is “global warming.”
The term turns people off, fostering images of shaggy-haired liberals, economic sacrifice and complex scientific disputes, according to extensive polling and focus group sessions conducted by ecoAmerica, a nonprofit environmental marketing and messaging firm in Washington.
Instead of grim warnings about global warming, the firm advises, talk about “our deteriorating atmosphere.” Drop discussions of carbon dioxide and bring up “moving away from the dirty fuels of the past.” Don’t confuse people with cap and trade; use terms like “cap and cash back” or “pollution reduction refund.”
Why the hell do they want to mention the words “cash back” and “refund” here? This is designed to screw the taxpayers, not to give some kind of return or refund……
The fact is this so called consensus has way to many holes in it and is being outed for the fraud that it is. No matter what it’s called.
Even some democrats are a little queasy when it comes to cap and trade laws that President Borg, Pelosidite and the Reidinator want to cram through in the budget bill.
Eight Senate Democrats are opposing speedy action on President Barack Obama’s bill to combat global warming, complicating prospects for the legislation and creating problems for their party’s leaders.
The eight Democrats disapprove of using the annual budget debate to pass Obama’s “cap and trade” bill to fight greenhouse gas emissions, a measure that divides lawmakers, environmentalists and businesses. The lawmakers’ opposition makes it more difficult for Democratic leaders to move the bill without a threat of a Republican filibuster.
The budget debate is the only way to circumvent Senate rules that allow a unified GOP to stop a bill through filibusters.
“Enactment of a cap-and-trade regime is likely to influence nearly every feature of the U.S. economy,” wrote the Democratic senators, mostly moderates. They were joined by 25 Republicans. “Legislation so far-reaching should be fully vetted and given appropriate time for debate.”
The Democrats who signed the letter, addressed to the chairman and top Republican on the Senate Budget Committee, were: Robert Byrd, W.Va.; Blanche Lincoln, Ark.; Mary Landrieu, La.; Carl Levin, Mich.; Evan Bayh, Ind.; Ben Nelson, Neb.; Bob Casey Jr., Pa.; and Mark Pryor, Ark.
Global warming is crap. Cap and trade is crap. How do I know this? I know this because President Borg and collective want to ram this down our throats without debate. They know this will trample the economy but it fits in with their agenda and the only thing that matters is the socialist agenda. Debating this on it’s merits would only prove the sham and we wouldn’t want to use facts and logic now would we.
With his approval number tanking, President Borg will sign the pork filled 410 billion dollar Omnishortbus spending bill possibly today. The amusingly ironic detail of signing this bill is that Obummer is going to turn it into some kind of ceremony to announce earmark reforms.
Wh……. What?
Are you people still buying what this guy is shoveling? The best part about this bill is the blame being put on Bush. Who was in control of congress when this bill was written? How long will the left keep blaming somebody else for their own inadequacies (stupidity)? (That was a rhetorical question….)
But hey!! It’s only a measly 410 billion…. We’ll work on getting the pork out of the next budget…..
