State Rep. Jeff Wood arrested again on suspicion of driving while intoxicated

State Rep. Jeff Wood has been arrested in Marathon County on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, his second such arrest in less than a year and fourth overall, a Wisconsin State Patrol official said Thursday.

Wood, an independent from Bloomer, was picked up Wednesday on Highway 51 in the town of Rib Mountain outside Wausau, said Lt. Timothy Carnahan of the State Patrol.

Carnahan said Wood was alleged to be under the influence of prescription and nonprescription drugs but not alcohol.

The arrest follows charges against Wood in January of third-time intoxicated driving and comes as lawmakers are attempting to crack down on Wisconsin’s drunken driving culture. Wood voted with other lawmakers in the Assembly last week to approve a drunken driving bill that would make a fourth offense a felony in the state.

The State Patrol report shows Wood was pulled over at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday after a witness reported that his 1998 Buick was driving erratically and almost struck another vehicle.

The arresting State Patrol officer and another officer from the Everest Metro Police Department reported that Wood appeared sleepy and had with him a bottle of the anxiety medication Lorazepam. The prescription had been filled on Tuesday with 45 pills but the bottle only contained seven pills at the time of Wood’s arrest, the report stated.

This man needs to be tossed out of office and incarcerated. He’s taken the same path as Mark Benson but fortunately hasn’t killed anyone….. YET.

Wood needs to resign NOW or the electorate of the 67th Assembly District need to remove this douchebag from office.

More has been released about the victims and the suspects in the tragic crash that I posted about yesterday.  From WTMJ

The three men in the flatbed truck were not injured. They are brothers from Milwaukee who authorities believe are in this county illegally. The Washington County Sheriff’s Department planned to turn Ricardo, Armando and Javier Guerrero over to federal immigration authorities on Monday or Tuesday.

“That’s pretty disappointing because we know there’s at least one way it could have prevented,” Sheriff Dale Schmidt told TODAY’S TMJ4 reporter Tom Murray. “That is, they shouldn’t have been in that place at that time driving a vehicle,”

Investigators are considering charges or citations against the driver, 38-year-old Ricardo Guerrero. They say he does have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license.

Now, please explain that to me.  How in the world can someone who is in the country illegally have a valid driver’s license?  But I suppose in a state in which you have to show ID to get sinus medication but not to vote, this shouldn’t be a surprise. 

This is ludicrous.  When are we going to stand up and say enough is enough?  The laws in this state are back-asswards.  Not a citizen?  No problem!  Driver’s license and reduced tuition for you!  Wanna vote?  No problem!  No identification needed!  Having sinus issues?  Wait one minute there – need to see identification and type it into the computer so we can make sure you’re not running a meth lab.  For heaven’s sake – when will this madness end?

Karl Ziebart died traveling to a place he loved – his church.

On Sunday, the 42-year-old Richfield man; his 9-year-old son, Luke; and a 12-year-old girl from another family were killed when the SUV in which they were riding was hit by a truck that slid across an icy road in Washington County, according to authorities and the man’s brother.

The girl’s name could not be confirmed late Sunday. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

Ziebart’s 40-year-old wife, Denise; the Ziebarts’ two other children; and the 12-year-old girl’s 11-year-old brother suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospitals, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Department.

Amber Ziebart, 14, and her 11-year-old brother, Zechariah, underwent surgery at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and were stable, said Karl Ziebart’s brother, Bernie.

Denise Ziebart, who was at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, was not stable enough for surgery as of late Sunday, Bernie Ziebart said.

The condition of the other 11-year-old boy could not be confirmed.

Three men who were in the 1-ton flatbed truck were not injured. Their names had not been released by the Sheriff’s Department.

A horrible tragedy.  I urge you to read the entire article to learn more about the victims.   So, why is my blood pressure going up?  Why am I just so freakin’ mad I could spit?

The truck’s driver and his two passengers – ages 30 and 31, both of Milwaukee – were detained on suspicion of being in the country illegally, according to the Sheriff’s Department. They are in custody at the Washington County Jail.

When, in the name of all that is holy, will people start enforcing the immigration laws?  If the government would have gotten tough years ago, this family might still be intact.

Mark Benson, the man accused of causing a deadly car crash that killed a pregnant Oconomowoc High School administrator and her 10-year-old daughter, is back behind bars.

The Waukesha County Metro Drug Enforcement Group took Benson into custody after searching a home in the Town of Summit Tuesday evening, authorities said. 

“Benson was arrested for violating the conditions of his bail,” Sheriff’s Detective Steve Pederson told WTMJ.  “Some of the items seized during the search warrant were controlled medications.”

Benson is currently in custody at the Waukesha County Jail.   Pederson didn’t know when he will appear in court.

Last April, Jennifer Bukosky, her unborn child, and her 10-year-old daughter Courtney Bella were killed when their car was hit by Benson’s SUV.  Police said Benson was high on prescription drugs at the time of the crash.

Mark Benson Back in Custody

The Waukesha County Metro Drug Enforcement Group arrested Mark Benson for violating the conditions of his bail. Controlled medications were seized from his home.

This man is a menace to society.  I’m sure the family of Jennifer Bukoski is resting a bit more peacefully knowing that her killer is back behind bars.  If there is any justice, they will now hold him without bail.

Well, they’re at it again.   Voces de la Frontera is stepping up its effort to convince Gov. Jim Doyle to allow illegal immigrants to obtain certificates that would allow them to drive and get car insurance.  One passage in the article really stands out to me.

“We’re not talking about criminals here, but working people who need to drive to New Berlin and Mequon to clean buildings, or take a family member to the hospital and to do so safely and with insurance,” said Tony Baez, president and CEO of the Council for the Spanish Speaking, another coalition member.

We’re not talking criminals?  Really?  What is it about illegal immigrants that these groups fail to understand?  They ARE criminals.  They are in this country ILLEGALLY.  That, my friends, is a crime in and of itself.  The fact that they have not broken any other laws is really not relevant. 

Congress passed the REAL ID Act in 2005. It requires all states to check a person’s immigration status before issuing a driver’s license or state ID. Only drivers who are citizens or have legal status can qualify.

In response, Wisconsin passed a law in 2006 that required proof of citizenship or legal status, including a Social Security number, to get a driver’s license. The REAL ID does allow states to issue a driver’s license certificate to residents without Social Security numbers.

I fail to understand why so many would oppose this.  Driving is a privilege, NOT a right.  I am sick and tired of people who are in the country ILLEGALLY shouting about their rights.  They have no rights.  None.  Nada.  If they want rights, they should do what so many do and come into this country LEGALLY.

Here’s the deal on this one folks…… Say your traveling south on Highway N in Dane County and I’m traveling North on that same highway. You want turn left on the on ramp to east bound I94 and I want to turn right on the on the ramp to east bound I94. There are no stop signs or yield signs anywhere. I’m considered THE VEHICLE APPROACHING FROM THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. All 4 of you stupid asses are supposed to YIELD and not cut in front of me……….4 OF YOU S.O.B.’s……..4!!!!!!!!

to blend or come together without abrupt change <merging traffic>

Let me help you out with this one….

What this means is when you are entering the interstate using the on ramp, use the ramp to ACCELERATE to the speed that traffic is moving. Don’t wait until you are on the freeway to push the gas pedal through the firewall to pass everybody.

Another thing….. That thing below your head IS YOUR NECK!!!!!!! Your neck allows you to swivel your head back and forth without turning your whole body. While merging with traffic please utilize your neck to turn your head to check for traffic.

Remember, The cars that are at highway speeds on the highway have the right-of-way over merging traffic.
